My wife and I had a wonderful opportunity to spend a few days in Todos Santos, Mexico, a small town about an hour drive north of Cabo San Lucas on the Pacific coast. We had a great time walking the streets of the town, eating at local restaurants, and relaxing at the wonderful hacienda on a hill overlooking town. On one of our walks, I photographed many of the saints that line the tops of buildings, as well as some interesting signs like "El Perico Azul"("The Blue Parakeet").
Retiring back to the house we went to the upstairs patio and took in a great sunset.
On the last full day of our visit we went to Las Palmas Beach, a beautiful secluded beach a short drive from town. The area surrounding the beach is arid desert, but right at the beach there are several fresh water springs that feed this oasis of palm trees.
Following the fresh water stream up towards the palm trees I was able to get fairly close to a small "Wilsons Plover" foraging in the marsh.
Along the edge of the beach area there was a small fresh water spring bubbling up through a mixture black and tan colored sand that flowed so slowly it made a constantly changing abstract painting.
